Detecting low-abundance antigens with even the best conventional dye conjugates can be a challenge, as photobleaching can make it difficult to effectively observe and record staining. The exceptional photostability of Qdot probes conjugates can provide substantial benefits in the detection of low abundance targets. Due to their narrow and symmetric emission spectra, Qdot probes are also ideal for multicolor, multiplexed fluorescence detection using a single excitation source such as the 405 nm laser. |
Qdot streptavidin conjugates and conjugation kits
Qdot streptavidin conjugates combine the unsurpassed photostability of Qdot probes with the highly specific binding properties of streptavidin. These powerful fluorescence detection reagents offer unique performance advantages in a wide variety of tissue labeling and flow cytometry experiments; they are efficiently excited using the 405 nm violet laser, and the Qdot probes fluorescence is extremely resistant to photobleaching.
Qdot streptavidin conjugate contents
These products provide 200 µL of the Qdot streptavidin conjugate and a detailed protocol outlining the use of the product in immunohistochemistry (IHC) applications using fluorescence microscopy. At conventional working concentrations, ~100 staining experiments may be performed
Qdot strepavidin conjugate sampler kit contents
Each Qdot Streptavidin Sampler Kit provides 50 µL of each of six colors of Qdot streptavidin conjugate (525, 565, 585, 605, 655, and 705 nm emission) and a detailed protocol describing the use of the product in immunohistochemistry (IHC) applications using fluorescence microscopy. At conventional working concentrations, ~20 staining experiments with each color may be performed.

Qdot probes for custom conjugations
Qdot ITK probes are designed to allow researchers to create custom conjugations. Provided as carboxyl-derivatized, PEG-derivatized, and also as a version provided in decane (i.e., not water soluble)
- Carboxylate functionalized—for preparing custom conjugates that require high loading of biomolecules; can be coupled to amine groups of proteins and modified oligonucleotides using EDC-mediated condensation; can be conjugated to X-PEG-amine bi-functional linkers for custom reactivity and higher specificity
- Amine-derivatized PEG functionalized—for preparing custom conjugates by reacting efficiently with isothiocyanates and succinimidyl esters, or with native carboxylic acids using water-soluble carbodiimides such as EDC; amine-derivatized PEG helps prevent non-specific interactions and provides a convenient handle for conjugation
- Organic (provided in decane, not water soluble)—for preparing conjugates for applications calling for organic solvents such as hexane, toluene, dichloromethane, or chloroform; for researchers who want to use their own methods for transferring Qdot materials into water
Qdot wheat germ agglutinin (WGA) conjugate
Wheat germ agglutinin is a 36,000 molecular weight protein that binds to N-acetylglucosamine and N-acetylneuraminic acid (sialic acid) residues of glycoproteins and glycolipids. There are many uses for WGA conjugates including cell surface labeling and measuring retrograde neuronal transport. Our Qdot 655 wheat germ agglutinin conjugate provides highly sensitive labeling of N-acetylglucosamine residues, with low non-specific binding.
Qtracker cell labeling kits and vascular labels
Qtracker cell labeling kits employ a custom targeting peptide to deliver intensely fluorescent Qdot probes into the cytoplasm of live cells in culture. The fluorescence can be traced through several generations and is not transferred to adjacent cells in a population.
Designed to deliver intense fluorescence, Qtracker vascular labels are non-targeted Qdot probes designed to be injected into the tail vein of mice for vasculature studies.
