The Tailored Delivery Solution (TDS) for prepared culture media improves laboratory efficiency without the need for large capital investment! Resulting in less costs, less waste and less staff involvement.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which products are included in the Tailored Delivery Solution?

This program is designed for short shelf life and high demand products such as Prepared Media in various formats including: plates, biplates, contact plates, bottles and tubes. As a bespoke solution, we are happy to evaluate the inclusion of further products.

What are my options in terms of delivery frequencies?

We will design your delivery schedule to suit the requirements of your facility. Here are some examples of how existing TDS customers utilize this solution:

  • Prepared media is used on a daily basis so frequent deliveries are required to satisfy demand: Monday, Tuesday and Friday deliveries
  • Weekend cage delivery supplies six cages once a week
  • Some facilities analyse usage per bench, so this customer receives a weekly order of trolleys; one for the stool bench, one for UTI bench and one for the general usage
  • Customers also separate deliveries by storage conditions e.g. cold and ambient storage

What does the trolley look like?
      

 

The trolleys are available in two sizes:

  • Small: 724x815x1200mm
  • Large: 1200x800x1800mm. The large version can be easily flattened for efficient storage.

The trolleys are made from stainless steel with robust, lockable wheels. Each trolley has a large opening for ease of loading/unloading.

We know that some deliveries take place in the elements, so all trolleys are delivered with a weatherproof hood.

What does a crate look like?

 

Crates are made with a two flap lid for durability and ability to stack for storage.

How do you store the trolley and crates?

Store between 2-12°C for the shelf life stated on the certificate*, or at room temperature for a maximum of 4 weeks (within shelf life). 

*This only applies to those Thermo Scientific Prepared Media that are mentioned on this Validation Certificate from QA.

Can multiple materials be combined into one trolley?

Yes, you can design the layout of your trolley according to your needs with the possibility of altering this during your pilot implementation program.

How will the trolley be shipped to us?

In most case, trolleys and crates will be delivered by a dedicated driver and vehicle, taking into account your facilities goods-in requirements.

How many different materials can you pack per shelf?

The layout depends on the total capacity of each trolley. So far we have two trolley size variations in our standard program:

  • the small trolley, product code CAGE-S, holds up to 360 packs with one shelf included
  • the large trolley, product code CAGE-L, holds up to 864 pack with one shelf included

This program is tailor made and therefore we are open to discuss options with you.

How many shelves can a cage hold as a maximum?

The maximum shelf capacity is as follows:

  • Large cage: four shelves
  • Small cage: three shelves
What volume offers maximum cost efficiency?

Weekly or bi-weekly deliveries over 300 packs are recommend in conjunction with the TDS trolley delivery program for maximum benefit.
