Use Bolt Bis-Tris Plus gels to obtain optimal results for your day-to-day protein separation needs. Bolt Bis-Tris Plus gels come in four gel types and multiple well formats. Each box contains 10 gels. A Mini Gel Tank (A25977) is required for use of all Bolt gels.
Features include:
• Optimized run conditions—separate your proteins using constant voltage in approximately 20 minutes
• Long shelf life—store gels for at least 16 months at 4–25°C
• Better protein integrity—neutral pH sample preparation process preserves your proteins
• Wedge-shaped wells—for easier sample loading and up to two times higher sample volume
Choose the right Bolt Bis-Tris Plus gels for your protein separation
Obtain optimal separation of your proteins by choosing the right combination of gel and running buffer. Bolt Bis-Tris Plus gels come in four polyacrylamide concentrations: 8%, 10%, 12%, and 4–12% gradient. The gels can be run using Bolt MES SDS (B000202) or Bolt MOPS SDS (B000102) running buffer to obtain different separation ranges. Bolt Bis-Tris Plus gels consist of a neutral pH-buffered (pH 6.4) polyacrylamide gel and have an operating pH of about 7.0. Bolt Bis-Tris Plus gels also come in four different well formats: 10, 12, 15, and 17 wells.
Convenient to use
Bolt Bis-Tris Plus gels can be run using constant voltage in approximately 20 minutes with the Bolt MES running buffer. Bolt Bis-Tris Plus gels offer sharper bands, high resolution, longer shelf life, and higher accuracy of results than Tris-glycine–based gels. In addition, Bolt Bis-Tris Plus gels have innovative wedge-shaped wells that allow up to two times more sample load volume than other 1.0-mm thick gels. The wedge-shaped wells also have larger openings, making sample loading easier. And Bolt Bis-Tris Plus gels have a shelf life of at least 16 months at 4°C to 25°C.
For transferring your proteins to a membrane, we recommend using for Bolt Transfer buffer (BT0006) for traditional wet transfer using the Mini Blot Module (B1000). Alternatively, rapid semi-dry transfer can be done using the Invitrogen Power Blotter or rapid dry transfer using the iBlot 2 Gel Transfer Device (IB21001).
