Rapidly detect Salmonella species in food and environmental samples with the Thermo Scientific™ SureTect™ Salmonella Species PCR Assay.
Detect Salmonella species in food and environmental samples with the Thermo Scientific™ SureTect™ Salmonella Species PCR Assay which incorporates optimized primer and probe components for highly-specific detection of Salmonella species.
The assay's workflows have been validated for a broad range of human foods, pet food, including large test portions, and environmental samples by AOAC International and ISO 16140-2:2016 according to NF VALIDATION™ by AFNOR Certification and by MicroVal™ Certification. The assay is also certified for primary production samples by NF Validation™ by AFNOR Certification.
The new SureTect assay format incorporates color-coded plastics with orientation markings and breakable strip format and colored reagents and pierceable seals to enable an optimized workflow for maximum laboratory efficiency and productivity.
The SureTect System is an optimized solution combining speed and performance in an easy-to-use, cost-effective platform—giving you results you can trust.

The Thermo Scientific SureTect Salmonella species PCR Assay Kit includes:
The SureTect Salmonella PCR Assay is validated on the Applied Biosystems™ QuantStudio™ 5 Food Safety Real-Time PCR System using RapidFinder™ Analysis Software v3.0 or later or the Applied Biosystems™ 7500 Fast Food Safety Real-Time PCR Instrument using Rapidfinder™ Express Software v2.0 or later, allowing you to test easily and confidently. After completing the run, interpreted results are clearly displayed and can be reported, stored, printed, or downloaded as required.
The SureTect Salmonella PCR Assay has been tested extensively on a wide range of human food categories, including meat products, dairy products, fish and fishery products, fruits, and vegetables. The assay has also been tested on pet food and environmental samples, including primary products samples. Individual matrices tested in the method validation studies were selected based on their associated contamination by Salmonella and the known challenges linked with testing them by PCR methods. Individual matrices included but were not limited to ground beef, raw poultry, eggs, non-fat dried milk, and ready-to-eat meals.
