LanthaScreen™ Tb anti-GFP Antibody is a terbium-labeled antibody recognizing green fluorescent protein (GFP). It can be used to determine GFP expression levels in any GFP expressing cell line with greater sensitivity than detecting the fluorescence intensity of the GFP protein alone.
With the LanthaScreen™ Tb anti-GFP Antibody You Can:
Detect Low Level GFP Expression
GFP is a commonly used reporter for many types of research. In some instances, the level of GFP-target protein expression is not high enough to generate a suitably strong fluorescence intensity signal. The LanthaScreen™ Tb anti-GFP Antibody can help overcome this problem through the use of TR-FRET assays. Since TR-FRET is a ratiometric readout and does not rely on the intensity of the signal alone, low levels of GFP expression are not a problem.
Use TR-FRET to Track Protein Expression Levels
Using the LanthaScreen™ Tb anti-GFP Antibody in conjunction with a cell line expressing GFP-target fusion protein can allow development of TR-FRET assays for protein accumulation or degradation. Following titration of a compound that induces or inhibits the expression of your GFP-target protein, LanthaScreen™ Tb anti-GFP can be added to the resultant cell lysates and the TR-FRET ratios compared to determine the relative effect of the compound on the GFP-target protein expression level.
Create New TR-FRET Assays from Any GFP Expressing Cell Line
Because the terbium label on the LanthaScreen™ Tb anti-GFP Antibody can be used as a donor for TR-FRET with GFP, any GFP-expressing cell line can be used with the antibody to build a TR-FRET assay. The antibody will bind to GFP in a cell lysate sample, and a simple ratiometric measurement can determine the differences in GFP expression levels between different samples.
