Dynabeads RNA Binding Buffer is intended for use with Dynabeads Carboxylic Acid for RNA Purification beads, together providing a simple, scalable, and automatable solution for purification of crude RNA produced by in vitro transcription (IVT). The products may be used for purification following solid-phase IVT with Dynabeads Streptavidin for In Vitro Transcription (figure below). The combination is particularly suitable where flexibility and high purity are required, such as in the discovery phase of RNA-based vaccines and therapeutics development.
Features of Dynabeads RNA Binding Buffer This buffer, combined with Dynabeads Carboxylic Acid for RNA Purification, offers efficiency, scalability (micrograms to grams) in manual and automated workflows, and quality to navigate from RNA-based drug discovery to commercial manufacturing without incurring extra time or costs from switching technology or raw material.
The buffer is offered as a stand-alone product. It is also included in the
Dynabeads RNA Purification and
Dynabeads In Vitro Transcription and RNA Purification kits.
Overview of the workflow Crude RNA from an IVT reaction is mixed with the beads (not included) and the buffer is added. The RNA binds to the bead surface and the remaining components of the reaction mixture are removed by applying a magnet (see
thermofisher.com/magnets) and discarding the supernatant (figure below).
Automation-ready for use with KingFisher purification systems The 1-μm magnetic beads are ideal for high-throughput screening. The process can be automated using liquid handlers or any of our
KingFisher sample purification systems. The scripts for KingFisher Flex and KingFisher Apex automated purification workflows are available from our website.
