Simplify the binding process with a universal binding reagent by using Thermo Scientific™ Fluoro-Max Fluorescent Streptavidin-Coated Particles in a variety of applications such as clinical diagnostics, immuno/histological studies and research. With an extremely broad Stokes shift, europium chelate particles help prevent nonspecific fluorescence interference. They are also excellent for quantitative membrane-based rapid assays, heterogeneous assays, luminescent assays, research applications, phagocytosis studies, cell surface markers and pore size determination.

When excited with UV light at its maximal absorbance wavelength of 333 nm, europium chelate particles emit long-lived luminescence at 613 nm, with a lifetime of approximately 0.5 milliseconds, which is about 10,000 to 100,000 times longer than the lifetimes of most fluorophores. This extremely long lifetime allows the application of europium particles to time-resolved fluorescence and can reduce the detection limits of fluorescence assays many orders of magnitude by elimination of background interference from relatively short-lived matrix fluorescence.

  • Made by dyeing Thermo Scientific™ OptiLink™ Carboxylate-Modified particles with europium chelate
  • Specifically designed for membrane or automated fluorometric-based applications
  • Available in standard 0.3 μM diameter
  • Dyed internally to prevent dye leaching and to assure maximum surface immunoreactivity

Fluoro-Max Fluorescent Benefits

  • Bind ligands without dye interference
  • Dye-free surface for coupling
  • High protein binding capacity
  • Readily adsorbs proteins
  • Optimize assays by controlling sensitivity, specificity and stability
  • Optimized acid content

Recommended for:

  • Clinical diagnostics
  • Molecular biology
  • Lateral flow, turbidimetric and slide aggulation assays
