Gentamicin sulfate is a water-soluble antibiotic originally purified from the fungus
Micromonospora purpurea. Gentamicin acts by binding to the 30S subunit of the bacterial ribosome leading to inhibition of protein synthesis and death in susceptible bacteria. Gibco™ Gentamicin is effective against a wide variety of gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria, and is used to prevent the contamination of cell cultures by bacteria. The recommended working concentration ranges from 0.5 to 50 μg /mL.
We offer a wide range of
antibiotics and antimycotics in both powder and liquid formats.
