Applied BiosystemsTM Thermal Cyclers
Precise, consistent PCR results for every challenge, application, and budget.
Donate and be an instrument of change |
When you trade-up your qualifying PCR or sample prep instrument, it will be donated to a talented scientist making an impact through our partnership with Seeding Labs.
Precise, consistent PCR results for every challenge, application, and budget.
Automate the extraction and purification of DNA, RNA, proteins, and cells.
Thermo Fisher Scientific first supported Seeding Labs’ mission in 2011, when the NanoDro Spectrophotometer trade-in program launched. Since then, the Applied Biosystems™ thermal cycler trade-in program has delivered over 100 instruments to talented scientists at 51 universities in 26 developing countries. The work and passion of these talented scientists combats hunger, obesity, pollution, and much more.
“The PCR machine is an essential component of our research as molecular biologists. It will increase our capacity and improve the quality of seeds we provide to local farmers.”
Dr. Enoch Achigan-Dako
School of Agronomic Sciences, Université d’Abomey-Calavi in Benin
Hunger still impacts over 690 million people around the world. Providing researchers the resources to cultivate healthy crops is one meaningful way to help. Dr. Achigan-Dako’s mission is to support a stronger economy with locally grown crops.
“Having access to a new PCR machine will accelerate research at our institution, improve the quality of our publications, and provide support to research groups that lack access to this kind of equipment.”
Dr. Geovanny Nic Can
Faculty of Engineering at the Universidad Autónoma de Yucatán in Mexico
No more dealing with degraded samples, high costs and potential contamination from sending samples out to other labs to perform PCR. Dr. Nic Can and his team are hopeful for a healthier future and overcoming obesity with adipocyte research.
“We are short of equipment in our labs. Your PCR donation will mean a lot to our department and university at large. Our students will have hands-on experience with the instrument and learn the techniques practically.”
Annastasia Ekandjo and Paulus Kapolo
Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at the University of Namibia
The unsafe disposal of poisonous contaminants contributes to environmental pollution and has significant implications on health. Molecular biology research can help dreams for healthy soil, clean water, and a thriving city come become a reality.

Thermo Fisher Scientific has been supporting Seeding Labs since 2011, when we launched a NanoDrop trade-in program. As our first partner from the manufacturing industry, we recognized Thermo Fisher's commitment to global science with our 2018 Global Visionary Award. Since then, equipment donations from Thermo Fisher have been included in 60 Instrumental Access shipments. These instruments have found a productive second home at 47 universities in 25 developing countries! Thanks to Thermo Fisher Scientific, thousands of students and scientists have the tools they need to research, innovate, and discover.
Seeding Labs believes that unleashing the full potential of scientists worldwide is our best hope for fighting global diseases, feeding our growing population, and protecting our planet. Through donations they equip scientists with the tools, training, and connections they need to be on the cutting edge of global discovery.
