Announcing EVOS M3000 Software Revision 1.0.0.52528
Revision 1.0.0.52528 provides the following changes for existing EVOS M3000 users.
Please review the Installation Instructions before updating your software.
Changes
- Bugfix: Color images exported as an overlay with scale bar result in distorted images
- Removal of the Shutdown button accessed via Settings as not a necessary feature. Instrument can be shut down straight from the switch in the back panel.
- The objective bundle names have been updated in objective installation section part of the out-of-the-box experience (OOBE)
Installation Instructions
Software Update (Rev 1.0.0.52528)
The software is provided preinstalled on the new Invitrogen EVOS M3000 Imaging System.
The software upgrade to the EVOS M3000 imaging system can be executed either automatically or manually. Both methods are outlined below.
IMPORTANT! It is not possible to downgrade the instrument software.
NOTE: The upgrade process will take approximately 5 minutes to complete.
NOTE: All user defined settings will stay the same and will not be modified by the upgrade.
In case there is an issue encountered during the upgrade process, try again. If the issue persists, contact service. For service information, refer to the contact information found from the EVOS M3000 Imaging System User Guide (Publication Number MAN0030066).
Automatic Software Upgrade
Automatic software upgrade is available if the instrument is connected to the Thermo Fisher Connect Platform. Refer to the EVOS M3000 Imaging System User Guide for instructions about creating a connection to Thermo Fisher Connect Platform.
When the EVOS M3000 Imaging System has been connected to the Connect software, upgrade can be carried out with the following steps.
IMPORTANT! Remove all external equipment from the USB ports before you install the software update.
IMPORTANT! Do not switch the instrument off during the software installation. The installation time depends on the software update. During the installation, the instrument may re-boot several times. The installation is complete when the Capture screen re-opens.
- Connect your instrument to the internet via wireless connection with a USB-enabled Wi-Fi dongle and check the connection via Settings
- Reboot the instrument
- A prompt with the available software update appears when the connection has been established.
- Select Update to install the new software version.
a. Prompt opens asking if you want to start the upgrade. Select Yes. The upgrade starts automatically
b. Wait for the upgrade to complete. The upgrade takes approximately 5 minutes in addition to the time needed to download the software upgrade file. The download time depends on the connection speed.
NOTE: Do not interrupt the process.
c. The system restarts when the upgrade is ready.
- Check that the SW version displayed in About screen in Settings is 1.0.0.52528 after the upgrade.
Manual Software Upgrade
If there is no connection to Thermo Fisher Connect Platform available, EVOS M3000 can be upgraded to v1.0.0.52528 manually with the following steps.
IMPORTANT! Remove all external equipment from the USB ports before you install the software update.
IMPORTANT! Do not switch the instrument off during the software installation. The installation time depends on the software update. During the installation, the instrument may re-boot several times. The installation is complete when the Capture screen re-opens.
- Download the update file to USB drive with at least 2 GB available space
- Insert USB drive into EVOS M3000 USB 3.0 port located on the side of the instrument
a. There will be a prompt asking if you want to start upgrade, select Yes. Upgrade should start automatically.
b. Wait for the upgrade to be completed. The upgrade takes approximately 5 minutes
NOTE: Do not interrupt the process.
c. The system restarts when the upgrade is ready.
- Check that SW version displayed in About screen in Settings is 1.0.0.52528 after the upgrade.
IMPORTANT! If you experience any issues with the installation or find that it is not completing as expected, please reboot your instrument and contact Technical Support.
